8th Altrincham Scouts, Cubs and Beavers
As some of you will be aware we moved to AMC at Janet’s and the Senior Steward’s invitation and on behalf of Scouting I should like to thank the Church for this kind act. It is sufficient to say without this move the Group would have closed and 46 young people would have been denied the scouting experience.
We currently have 20 Beavers, 24 Cubs and potentially 11 Scouts, which meet here every Thursday evening.
Beavers are for youngsters aged 6 to 8 years,
Cubs are for youngsters aged 8 to 10.5 years and
Scouts for youngsters 10.5 to 14.5 years.
Cubs, scouts and beavers have made a dragon for the St George day service. The Cubs have completed:- Fire safety training, making Bird feeders, completing the Artist Badge, Making Mother’s Day and Easter crafts, a hike around Dunham, a Sleepover and a Sponsored bike ride.
Other planned activities are, St John ambulance training and a PGL camp. We are also looking forward to the boy’s brigade leaders coming to show the group how to play musical instruments
