Quiz nights
The Quiz Nights happen about 10 times per year and normally on the last Friday of the month, commencing at 7.30 pm and finishing around 9.30 pm. Numbers vary but regularly average about 20 people per quiz and it’s really good to see that we get good support from Timperley Methodist Church and they often bring a team or two!
The quizzes are not meant to be money-making events, more social, but we do raise funds for various good causes. Earlier this year we sent a £1000 cheque to the North West Air Ambulance charity and the current good cause, the Neonatal Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital, has also been sent a cheque for £1000!! We are now fundraising for the new church roof and our target, again, is £1000.
In between times we do, ‘specials with food’ and have had numbers as high as 70, raising funds for Romania (two or three times), Love Russia and the Methodist Mission charity to mention a few.
